NEVADA FOOTBALL HANDS OUT 2007 AWARDS

RENO, Nev. — Junior running back Luke Lippincott was a unanimous selection for the Golden Helmet Award at the 2006 Nevada Football Awards Banquet held Sunday morning at the Silver Legacy.
Senior tight end Adam Bishop was named the team’s Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year honor and senior outside linebacker Ezra Butler captured the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year award. Junior Kevin Grimes was named the Outstanding Special Teams Player of the Year.
Nevada finished the season with a 6-6 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the Western Athletic Conference. The Wolf Pack is bowl eligible for the third straight year and is awaiting a bowl invitation.

NEVADA TO PLAY NEW MEXICO IN NEW MEXICO BOWL

RENO, Nev. — The University of Nevada has accepted an invitation to play in the second annual New Mexico Bowl against the University of New Mexico on Dec. 22 in Albuquerque, N.M.“We are extremely happy to welcome the Nevada Wolf Pack to the New Mexico Bowl,” said Jeff Siembieda, New Mexico Bowl Executive Director. “Nevada is an exciting team and we have tremendous respect for the program Chris Ault has built. We’re looking forward to hosting the Wolf Pack and their fans for a great bowl week.”
The game will kick off at 1:30 p.m. (Pacific) at University Stadium and will be broadcast to a national audience on ESPN.
